Maggie Weigel was recognized as the Student of the Month for January; Congratulations, Maggie! It was encouraging to hear a little bit about her leadership and faith journey at MCCS. Read Maggie’s interview below.

What are your plans after graduation?

“After graduation, I plan to attend Anderson University and major in elementary education.”

What sports, clubs, or activities have you been involved in? Any awards or special recognitions?

“During my time at Mount Calvary, I’ve been able to serve as student council president, and I’ve been involved with the National Honor Society. I’ve also been a captain for soccer and track. I’ve also been able to help with worship nights and serve as my class chaplain.”

What classes have helped you in your career objective?

“A class that has impacted me has been my strength training class with Mrs. Stum. It’s taught me that I can push myself harder than I thought possible and achieve really great results.”

How have the teachers at MCCS made an impact on your life?

“I am very grateful for the teachers here in Mount Calvary, specifically Mrs. Stum, my coach, who has poured into me and shown me what it means to be a leader and to work hard and love people with all I have.”

What has God been teaching you lately?

“God has been teaching me so much this year, but one thing that comes to mind is the question of in what am I placing my identity? He has been showing me that our identity is not only in certain areas of our lives, but our identity is fully in Him, in every area. It’s been really cool to see Him reveal that to me this year.”

What special or unique opportunities has MCCS given you?

“My teacher internship has allowed me to work one-on-one with the kids and get to know them and build relationships with them. God has really used this to show me where He has me in this next season.”

What is something you will miss about MCCS?

“I have made so many fun memories with my close friends here at MCCS. We’ve also done Secret Santa in our class every year, and that has always been a good way to get to know our class better and to have a good laugh.”
