Homecoming Brings Back Alums and Breaks a Record

On December 21, Mount Calvary hosted our annual Homecoming event, and it was a memorable night!

The evening started off with the VG playing a great game against New Covenant Christian and coming out with a win (46-36)!

We welcomed MCCS Alumni back to a special reception on the gymnasium stage with a popcorn bar and MCCS cookies. Alumni children played and colored pictures of our mascot, Champ. Seeing nearly 100 alumni return and bring their friends was a highlight of the evening!

During halftime of the VB basketball game, the 2023 Homecoming Court was announced, and Kiley Etter and Simon Kyllonen were crowned king and queen! We got to hear from all homecoming court nominees, and it was a blessing to hear how they are serving the Lord as students now and as they look ahead to their future beyond MCCS.

The VB team played a heart stopping game against New Covenant Christian, putting the game into overtime. With spectators on the edge of their seats, the boys team managed to pull off a 58-50 win!

As a community, we celebrated Senior Avery Kopcha making MCCS history by scoring his 1,507th point during the VB game! What an incredible moment!

Although there was plenty of celebrating and reuniting of friends, the night wasn’t over just yet. A group of alumni played their annual game of pick up basketball and had a great time together.

Thank you to all who joined us for Homecoming 2023!
