Mission & Values
Assisting parents to fulfill their responsibility for educating their children to be faithful and mature followers of Christ, instruments for honor, sanctified, set apart, and “useful to the Master, and prepared for every good work (II Timothy 2:21; Luke 2:52).”
MCCS will develop students who love the Lord their God with all their heart, soul, mind and strength, prepared intellectually and socially to overcome the challenges of the 21st century with humility, boldness, and Spirit-filled joy in the application of the global fulfillment of the Great Commission (Mk. 12:30-31).
The Philosophy of the Bible Curriculum at MCCS:
The Mount Calvary Christian School staff, working through carefully selected Bible Curriculum, will mold the K3-12 student into one who knows, loves, and worships God through a personal relationship with Christ. We will develop a sanctified individual who is useful to the Master. The student will grasp essential doctrines and truths through Bible study process, teacher modeling, and student centered activities. He or she will be able to employ essential vocabulary in everyday life, even to the point of sharing/defending his or her faith. Additionally, the student will be prepared to overcome the challenges of the 21st century with humility and boldness. The natural outcome of this process will be a joyful, Spirit-filled person who applies him/herself in a lifestyle of service, particularly effective in the global fulfillment of the Great Commission.
Academic Excellence: MCCS strives to meet the highest standards of academic excellence in an environment where students may learn on their individual levels. It is our objective to prepare our students to graduate from MCCS with the skills necessary to function successfully in today’s world.
Bible Integration: In the life of every Christian, biblical principles cannot be separated from daily living; therefore, the Bible is integrated into all classes by using teachable moments to share from God’s Word.
Biblical Philosophy: The Bible is the inerrant Word of God and guides all we do at MCCS.
Biblical Worldview: We believe the Bible to be the lens through which teachers and students view the world.
Critical Thinking: We encourage students to think logically, to use educated reasoning to solve problems, and to practically apply those things they have learned to all areas of their lives.
Great Commission: The Christian school cooperates with the evangelical church and the home to evangelize and disciple students and family members. The Christian school also encourages and trains students to evangelize within their spheres of influence.
Nondiscrimination: MCCS does not discriminate against anyone based on race, color, national and ethnic origin, disability or handicap to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. However, we do reserve the right to require students to adhere to the beliefs held by MCCS.
Parental Education Responsibility: Parents, not the school or the state, have the primary responsibility for educating their children. MCCS seeks to assist parents with this responsibility.
School Improvement: We actively seek to identify areas of possible
improvement that will bring glory and honor to God. Doing so will
promote the mission of MCCS and will demonstrate to God and to the
students our commitment to excellence.
Student Activities: MCCS offers spiritual, academic, athletic and
fine arts activities in order to develop well-rounded students.
