As MCCS celebrates their 50th anniversary this year, I pray many blessings over the ministry. I reflect back with gratitude for not only everything I learned in my time there, but also for the biblical foundation that came alongside what our sons were already learning at home and at church.

While I was at MCCS, I grew in understanding of what it means to worship. Particularly in praise team, I saw a whole new side of music in ministry and learned that no matter your condition, you can’t hide from God. He sees us, He knows us, and He has promised to never leave us.

Looking back, I appreciate the consistent scripture memory assignments that were required throughout my time at MCCS. I often use these verses to offer hope and comfort to people that are struggling with life.

One of the most influential experiences at MCCS was the opportunity to work with elementary students. Beginning in middle school, I served as an aide in a first-grade classroom. That experience fostered my love for the classroom. While many factors that led me to becoming a teacher, this experience played a large role in my decision to become a special education teacher.

When I reflect on life after MCCS, I see a clear thread of God’s provision, purpose, and grace. Through family, vocation, and opportunities to serve others, He has continued to shape my story in ways I could not have imagined years ago. I remain deeply grateful for the foundation that was laid during my time at Mount Calvary and for the ways that foundation continues to influence my life, my family, and the work I feel called to do today.

Mount Calvary Church and Mount Calvary Christian School are like family to us. They have been a very special part of my life, and I will always be grateful for the opportunity God gave me to work & serve at the school.

Even now, I remember having a real revival among the high-schoolers regarding their desire to purge ourselves from worldly things, as in 1 John 2:16. Students shared their testimonies in chapel and stood to declare their renewed dedication to follow Christ and become godly leaders.
