Mount Calvary Christian School

Molding Children for Christ's Service

Welcome!

At MCCS we build strong foundations not only in academics but also in our walk with Christ.  A strong foundation is essential to academic success.  This foundation begins to be built with the pre-kindergarten (K4) program.  Since 1976, our kindergarten programs have been noted as being both academic and nurturing while emphasizing Biblical principles the youngest students can understand.

The K4 program is a full school day on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Parents enrolling their child in the kindergarten program (K5) have the option of five full days, three full days (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) or five half-days.  Regardless of the selection, the K4 and K5 programs are academic as well as developmental in nature.  Students learn in traditional classroom settings that school can be exciting and fun while developing the early fundamentals of their academic growth.  Students participate in weekly times of music, choir, physical education, art, library, and chapel.  Students in the five-day K5 program also enjoy time studying Spanish and computers.

Students in grades 1-6 are challenged by classes in Bible, reading, language, spelling, math, social studies, science, penmanship, and creative writing.  The reading program is based on strong phonetics.  These students also enjoy weekly classes of music, choir, physical education, art, band, computer technology, and library.  The schedule is full, but there is also time for recess.

The weekly chapel program is a time of learning as well as a time of encouragement and fun designed for the age of the students.  Each week students participate in the chapel service by presenting vocal and instrumental selections, giving their salvation testimonies, and reciting scripture or poetry.  A variety of chapel speakers provide wonderful and practical life lessons.

Elementary students are also involved in a variety of activities:  singing at the annual auction, fall music program, annual reading contest, Grandparents’ Day, Spirit Week, Creative Writing Contest, and field day.  Ministry opportunities are presented for a different class each month.

MCCS offer the opportunity for students to be exposed to a well-rounded curriculum while keeping Christ integrated in all areas of school life.  The salvation of our students and their spiritual development are emphasized while striving for academic success.  These are key components at MCCS.
