Middle School
The MS Choir is a choral session that includes:
Unison and part-singing with instruction in performance techniques
Music Reading
Vocal Production
The Middle School Choir will perform at the winter and spring concerts, chapels, MS ACSI Fine Arts Festival in the spring, and possibly other concerts in the community.
High School
The HS Choir is a choral session that includes:
Advanced instruction in concert performance techniques
Music Reading
Vocal Production
The Senior High Chorus will perform at the winter and spring concerts, chapels, and HS ACSI Fine Arts Festival in the spring. The chorus also takes a tour in the spring. Students are required to attend a music retreat in the fall.
Before new students will be admitted, an audition and interview with the director is required. Students not qualifying (musically or disciplinarily) will be put on probation. Students not qualifying for disciplinary reasons must be off probation by the end of the first marking period or they will be dismissed. Students on probation musically must show marked improvement at the end of each quarter in order to continue.
Special Offerings
Hallel
Hallel is a vocal ensemble auditioned from the High School Chorus that performs more advanced vocal literature, much of which is a cappella. They meet every Monday evening from 7:00 – 8:30 PM. Hallel members are expected to be available for extra performances outside of the regularly scheduled school programs. This may include banquets, church concerts, community events, etc.
Middle School Vocal Ensemble
Auditioned from the Middle School Chorus, this ensemble rehearses regularly on Wednesdays after school. Members are expected to maintain a high level of musical endeavor and rehearsal techniques as the music is more advanced and must be learned in a short amount of time.
Private lessons for voice, piano, and instruments are available through the school.
